FindYourPhotographer.ca ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

• Photographer submissions: When a photographer submits a listing, we collect their business name, city, province, website, Instagram handle, and email address.
• Directory listings: Some listings are researched and added by our team from publicly available sources such as business websites, Instagram profiles, and Google Maps.
• Contact inquiries: If you use an inquiry form on a photographer's profile, we collect your name, email, and message in order to forward it to the photographer.
• Listing claims: When a photographer submits a claim request, we collect their Instagram handle for the purpose of identity verification. This is used solely to send a one-time verification code and confirm ownership of the listing.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To display your listing on FindYourPhotographer.ca
• To contact you about your listing or subscription
• To forward client inquiries to the appropriate photographer
• To improve the directory and its features

3. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your personal information to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising purposes
• We do not share your email address publicly on the directory

4. Data Storage and Retention

Photographer listing data is stored in Airtable, and contact inquiry form submissions are processed through Netlify Forms. Both Airtable and Netlify are US-based services, which means your data may be stored on servers located outside Canada. By using this Site, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure these third-party services maintain appropriate security standards.

We retain listing data for as long as the listing is active on the directory. If a listing is removed at your request, we will delete associated personal information within 30 days. Inquiry form submissions are retained for up to 12 months.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request removal of your listing from the directory

6. Cookies

We do not currently use tracking cookies or analytics tools. If this changes, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

7. Third-Party Links

Photographer profiles may contain links to external websites (Instagram, personal websites, Google Maps). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the directory constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
